Mike Lewis2009 Fantasy Football Season Finale

As you’re season comes to an end we can only reminisce…about beating you’re best friend, in the only game that really mattered! (If you didn’t make your Super Bowl of course). If you’re Super Bowl is this weekend, good luck as we try to help you decide what players to use in week 17!

Several top players will be riding the pine most of the game, if not all the game this week. So let’s take a look at what players should be a safe play or what players may still be available in your league.

As we look at Monday night the Bears vs. the Vikings we saw the Cutler of old, throwing 4 Td’s for 273 yards. This is the Cutler, the Bears thought they were getting this year. Better late than never I guess. Now looking forward to next week Cutler faces a horrible Detroit defense and would be a great play in the Super Bowl for teams that have that starting QB’s sitting this week.

With San Francisco playing for pride. They try to get to the 500 mark as they face the St. Louis Rams this week. This would be a great opportunity to play a starting RB like Frank Gore but also if you’re scrambling for a QB, Alex Smith is playing well. With the Rams ranked 24th in passing and 27th in rushing defense. This would be a great opportunity for both Gore and Smith to light it up.

The Ravens had a tough loss last week against the Steelers; however they are still very much in the hunt for a Playoff berth. If you have been riding the coattails of Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, or Derrick Mason you should be in a great position as they head Oakland to face the s truggling Oakland Raiders needing a win.

With nothing left to lose this year, Matt Schaub is a great play for the final week. Schaub, who already has a career-high and NFL best 4,467 passing yards, should be able to add quite a few more to that total against a far less than perfect New England secondary. Of course on the other end of the ball would be Andre Johnson, who is arguably the No. 1 wide out in fantasy football.

The Titans are officially eliminated from playoff contention. However the only thing Tennessee has left to play for this season is to try and get Chris Johnson over 2,000 rushing yards for the season. He is 128 rushing yards shy of 2,000. Johnson has been an elite fantasy running back this season and that should continue to roll with a milestone on the line.

Rashard Mendenhall did not have a good game last week facing a tough Baltimore Defense. Mendenhall rushed for 36 yard and touchdown. He should have a better game this week against the Miami Dolphins. Miami has given up 16 rushing touchdowns through 15 games. This is a must win for Pittsburgh if they want a shot at the postseason and the Steelers will play everyone in this one. Mendenhall should touch the over 20 times and punch one or two in for another short yardage touchdown. Roethlisberger is a great option this week as well the Dolphins are ranked 23 in passing defenses. This makes it a great option for all the receivers and tight end Heath Miller.

Jonathan Stewart is running like a mad man with the newly rejuvenated Carolina Panthers. The Panthers face the number 1 seed New Orleans Saints. The superstars of the Saints will most likely sit most of the game allowing Stewart to rack up the stats. This will also give quarterback Matt Moore and opportunity to show that he can be the starter for the Panthers! With Steve Smith out with a broken arm Muhsin Muhammad needs to step up and might be a good sleeper pick to the last game of the season.

If you did not make your playoffs or the Super Bowl, than we wish you better luck next year. As the Fantasy Football season revs up for 2010, remember UKnowFantasySports.com for advice and the launch of our 2010 Fantasy Football Games!!
